The Daniamant ODEO Distress LED Flare is the next generation of Electronic Visual Distress Signal Devices (eVDSD) offering advanced technology performance in line with development of new standards and regulations for replacement of pyrotechnic flares
Uses
It’s lightweight safe performance and compact size suits any outdoor activity – mountaineering, Skiing, Kayaking, Diving (tested to 50 mtr depth for 1 hour) aviation, boating, off-roading etc. It also floats
Function
Traditional hand flares will illuminate for around 50 seconds before extinguishing, while the Daniamant ODEO Distress LED Flare illuminates for around 8 hours at full illumination with intensity visible from 3 to 6 nautical miles (about the range of a traditional Hand Flare). Because no pyrotechnics are used, the ODEO product range is totally safe when switched off. Because it uses battery power (Alkaline cells - supplied) it can even be safely posted or carried in baggage on flights.
Power Supply
The Daniamant ODEO Distress LED Flare uses either 4 x L91 Lithium batteries or 4 x Alkaline batteries (Supplied). These batteries have the required shelf life and power capacity and will operate over an extended temperature range.
